In the spirit of summer and since finishing my degree, I wanted to start a new feature here on my blog based around London and all the great things the city offers. Now that I'm a 9-5 working gal, I tend to use my weekends exploring new area of the capital with friends, finding great spots for brunch and admiring the pretty houses (guilty!). In this series, I'll be concentrating on one area of the capital each few month, starting with one of my favourites: Parson's Green. I'll be chatting about all my favourite things to do along with the best secret spots to eat, drink and hang out.
The Area
Although I only discovered the beauty of Parson's Green fairly recently, it felt like a good place to start for having a good ol' chat about somewhere that I would consider one of London's hidden gems. Situated a stone's throwaway from Chelsea between Putney and Fulham, Parson's Green is a quiet spot without the tourist attention and over-instagrammed streets.
Things To Do
Parson's Green is a lovely place to be in the summer. You'll find the green itself dotted with picnic-ers with the sweet sound of an ice-cream van passing every few minutes - srsly cute. Although Notting Hill is famed for its colourful streets nestled with pastel houses, Parson's Green seriously challenges Portobello Road with a pretty decent selection of dream doors to admire! A few of my top Parson's Green recommendations would be:
- Parson's Green Farmer's Market (every Sunday)
- Katie & Jo's Boutique
- A cider in the White Horse Beer Garden
Where To Eat/Drink
Parson's Green is bustling with independent pubs, cafes and restaurants offer a wide selection of cuisines. Among the spots I've visited, Hally's on New Kings Road is a favourite for coffee and a great weekend brunch. I discovered Hally's through CitizenMag which is a favourite for discovering new spots to eat! Inspired by the laid-back Californian lifestyle, Hally's is a cute little spot with beautiful bright interiors, friendly staff and a healthy menu with indulgent options. Whether its a veggie breakfast or a slice of carrot and walnut cake (or both in my case) - Hally's certainly delivers! Plus, there is also a sister cafe called Little H across the road which I'll be making a stop at next time I'm passing through Parson's Green.
If there is any area of London you'd like to see me talk about next time or if you have any recommendations - feel free to leave me a comment below!
