Travel Diary: Perugia, Italy.

This weekend just passed, I took the opportunity to escape the hustle and bustle of London for a few days and flew out to the small city of Perugia, located north of Rome in the valleys of central Italy. Having never visited Italy before, I was really looking forward to experiencing the local culture, the authentic food (a girl can't say NO to carbs or ice-cream) and spending the long weekend catching up with one of my best friends, Shona. Shona is lucky enough to be spending her year studying abroad in Perugia and having not seen each other in about 7 months, we sure had a lot of catching up to do!

I stayed at Shona's apartment which was nestled on the cobbled Italian streets filled with street art and   so much character. Just 5 minutes walk away from the city centre where I was greeted by the amazing historic architecture plus so many cute coffee shops! One of the main attractions in the city is the breath-taking Cathedral which is definitely worth a peek inside! As well as spending time in Perugia, we also took a trip to Tuscany and spent time exploring a local town and visiting the beautiful nearby attraction of Lake Trasimeno.
The majority of these photos were taken on the steps of the Cathedral of San Pietro, where I am wearing one of my favourite pieces of the moment: my Warehouse checkered culottes.  Last year, I felt the way about culottes that a lot of people maybe still do.. unflattering and frankly quite ugly. However, as the seasons change, so do my opinions and what I may have disliked in the past, is my new favourite obsession. I love the simplicity of the monochrome checkered print, whilst still adding a bit of interest and adds a smart casual vibe to the outfit. I recently rediscovered my salt 'n' pepper biker style coat from Oasis (about 2 years ago) and have barely taken it off since! I feel kinda bittersweet that it will not be cold enough to wear it for much longer!

Also, I've been giving up the liquid eyeliner more and more lately. Once my signature look and possible desert island beauty product has been tossed aside in the favour of a more natural, mascara-only make-up look. Its still very new to me, but I don't hate it... Let me know what you guys think - or if you can even tell ha!
