USA Photo Diary - Day 1-4

Day 1 - Los Angeles

Oasis maxi dress, Vintage denim jacket, Primark backpack and H&M sunglasses

Day Two - Las Vegas

Misguided dress, Primark bracelets and eBay American flag bikini

Day Three/Four- Zion National Park
H&M cami, Topshop lace shorts and tan leather backpack

Just a quick photo-post of my trip across America (from LA to NY) so far.
It's only been four days but I've loved each place I've visited and had such amazing experiences in such a short time.
I'm travelling across America with my best friend Mollie. I guess we're a little too obsessed with 90210 and just NEEDED to visit LA! Unfortunately we only spent one day in the city and we'd love to have been there longer. We spent the day embarking on a Beverly Hills tour which was super fun and I even got my first USA celeb spot - Nicole Richie! The afternoon was spent strolling down Santa Monica pier and sunbathing in the California sunshine; bliss.
Day two was spent in sin city, Las Vegas. Such an incredible place - day and night. Being only 19, I was slightly restricted with the drinking age, but had fun nonetheless. My Vegas highlight was definitely sunbathing by the pool at Caeser's Palace... Unreal.
On days three and four, I visited Zion National Park and Lake Powell. Zion was too beautiful for words and I spent the day hiking very high cliffs in the blazing sun. It was definitely worth it as the views were spectacular! I also managed to have a dip in the blue water pools of Lake Powell which was pretty cool.
I'm heading to the Grand Canyon (!!!!!) for the next couple of days which I'm so excited for. A helicopter ride over the canyon is also on the cards!

Summer Woodland

Kimono jacket, Miss Selfridge via eBay
3D Floral skirt, Topshop
White lace socks, Dorothy Perkins
Wooden wedge sandals, New Look via eBay
Tan strap watch, Urban Outfitters

For me, summer is all about the kimono jackets. Lightweight fabrics, pretty patterns and a great cover up for when the Great British weather isn't all that great. I got this nude and turquoise beauty from eBay a couple of months ago, but it is originally from Miss Selfridge (no idea how new/old though!). I'm surprised this ASOS clutch hasn't made an appearance on my blog sooner - its my go-to going out bag. Something that will match practically any outfit.
I'm a sucker for a wooden heel and I've had these wedges a couple of years now. They remind me very much of the Jeffrey Campbell Miracle Wedges which I just cannot justify spending my money on. This New Look pair were a mere £9 on eBay - not bad hey!
I'm leaving London today and I'm probably on a plane to LA by the time this post is live on my blog. If I haven't mentioned it enough times already, I'm embarking on the trip of a life-time in the USA. I'm heading to Los Angeles first of all and doing a road trip all the way across the country to New York City. Living the dream.

Mod Dolly Shoot

I just wanted to share a few photos from a shoot I did with Mod Dolly a couple of weeks ago for their summer lookbook. Incase you aren't familiar with the brand already, Mod Dolly is a fashion outlet selling designs by Amy He as well as other independent brands through their own website and on ASOS Marketplace. We had so much fun shooting in a beautiful park in South London and on a gorgeous June morning. All the items I'm modelling are available now, so make sure to check out Mod Dolly on ASOS!

Floral Symmetry

Sunglasses, Primark
Rings, Primark
Nails, Topshop in Green Room

I've been meaning to blog about this shift dress for a good six months. It is another piece I got as uniform for my part-time job at Oasis. I adore the pattern and style of the dress, it can be dressed up quite smart or worn casually too.
In other news, I've completed my first year at university! My final hand-in was a couple of weeks ago so now I'm free until October which a pretty crazy feeling. I'm leaving London next week to go travelling and I probably won't be back until August. I've literally had the best year of my life since moving to London and if anyone is thinking of studying here or at London College of Fashion, I couldn't recommend it enough. My highlights of first year have to include attending shows at London Fashion Week, visiting the beautiful city or Barcelona and completing a six month internship at Dior!
Rumour has it that Google Friend Connect will be disappearing very soon so make sure to follow my blog through Bloglovin'!

Embroidered Lace Skirt

Denim jacket, Vintage
White mesh midi skirt, Topshop via eBay
Cross belt., Primark
Tan strap watch, Urban Outfitters
Rings, Primark and Vintage
Nails, Barry M in Turquoise

Back in London this week and settling back into city life. I'm looking forward to my project hand-in date in 9 days (and counting!) and it to officially be the start of summer! It'll be great to actually have some free time in London as my schedule has literally been full almost everyday this term. Josh and I managed to squeeze in photographing my outfit yesterday before I headed to work. We spent the morning exploring a park in Acton as I'm a sucker for fields and a backdrop of greenery.
I paired my latest eBay bargain, this embroidered Topshop midi skirt, with my vintage denim jacket and black cami. I featured the white version of this H&M cami in my Back to Boho post a couple of weeks ago and I love it so much I decided to get it in black too. Although its just a really basic top, I love the simplicity of it as well as the interesting back detail. Once again my H&M cut out boots have barely left my feet. They're a great throw-on alternative - seriously glad I bought them!
There is so much I want to do and change on my blog lately, I'm promising lots of changes once I have the time to settle down and work on it! Would you guys be interested in me documenting my American road trip on here? Or if you have any ideas for different content you'd like to see, let me know below!

Clawsareout Nail Art

A bit of a different post from me today, but I just wanted to tell you all about my university project this term at London College of Fashion. The unit is titled Fashion Enterprise Management and together, in groups of 6, we've had the challenge of setting up our own business with an £100 venture capital investment from our tutors. And then, (not to sound too cliche!) Clawsareout was born..
My group and I decided to base our business around the nail art trend by offering painted acrylic false nails to our customers. Each design - Mono Mono, '90s RevivalSugar Candy Floral and Aqua Metallic - are based around SS13 trends that can be worn to accessorise. All sets are original hand-painted designs using Dior nail polish which include 24 false nails and nail glue for just £9.99.
My personal favourites are the Aqua Metallic nails which I featured in a blog post last week (as seen below). Having very short brittle nails myself, I love to wear falsies! The nails and glue are great quality with excellent holding power and can last up to 2 weeks. I matched my nails to my aqua jewellery!
We only have a few sets of each design left so please hurry and buy yours now at http://clawsareout.bigcartel.com !
