Black Grey Blonde

Embellished t-shirt, Forever 21
Black skirt, Forever 21
Tote bag, H&M
Sunglasses, Primark
Nails, Barry M in Greenberry

I'm into layering tops over skirts lately, it feels so laid back and casual. This embellished t-shirt and skirt are some more things I picked up from Forever 21 while in the States. Not the most summery of outfits, but I find this is an effortless throw-on option.

Tropical Florals

Sunglasses, Primark
Nails, Barry M in Greenberry

Its no secret that my style varies very much. I can go from wearing grungey outfits to vibrant florals in the space of a day depending on my mood (and the summertime weather!). I was kindly sent this beauty of a dress from Dahlia last month and wore it a few times on my travels across the USA. I love the cheeky cutout sides and the print of the dress, and paired with a pair of wedges and sunglasses - its a winner for July days in the countryside. Hope you're all having a wonderful summer.

Hello from Yorkshire. I'm spending the next couple of weeks back home. Its so lovely to relax and see friends and family. I've also been doing a lot of cycling and playing tennis - still kinda feel like I'm on holiday!
I've wanted some leopard print shorts like these literally about two years and have never managed to find the perfect pair - until now. I picked up these in Washington DC from Forever 21. I absolutely love the store, such fast-fashion at great prices. Luckily we have two stores in London so I'm always popping in. Although I shouldn't really be wearing my leather jacket in July, I needed something to cover up my sunburnt arms. Silly Monica for not using suncream!

Hello again! Here's my final update of my USA photo diary between Tennessee and New York. Sorry for a very photo-heavy post but there was so many images I wanted to share with you all - I got a little snap-happy!
I'm currently blogging from the airport after a long flight home. I've just been flicking through all my photos and reflecting with my best friend Mollie, on what has been by far the best three weeks of my life. I've literally had so much fun and learnt a lot on this trip and I couldn't recommend it enough!
This week we started off visiting Tennessee. I was blown away by the beauty of the state, with its peaceful surroundings and stunning landscape. We made a stop at the Jack Daniels Brewery along the way which was a delightful experience and to make the day better, I spotted barrels saying Barley and Corn! It's not often I find something associated with my rare surname okay...
I also went white water rafting which was a lot of fun. I guess I'm a bit of an adrenaline junkie - I love anything that is slightly dangerous yet exciting. I like the challenge.
Another highlight this week has been visiting Washington D.C. The U.S capital is a very well-kept city with so much history and so much to do. I guess I liked it a lot because it reminded me of London. Mollie and I spent the day exploring the museums, standing by the White House and of course... doing a spot of shopping. Lets just say my bank balance suffered a little after a cheeky trip to Forever 21 ooops.
My favourite place on the entire trip however, was our final stop in New York City. It's somewhere I've always dreamt of visiting (probably because I watch too much Sex and the City!) but New York certainly lived up to my expectations. I didn't have much time there, but Mollie and I managed to see the NY skyline, wandered round Time Square, ate bagels for brunch and explored Central Park - such tourists! It's hard to describe just how much I loved New York, there is just something about it. All I know is, I must live there.
Hope you've enjoyed my USA updates! I'm heading home to North Yorkshire in the next couple of days so I'll be blogging from there for the next few weeks. Expect oldstyle helloomonica posts!

4. Missguided dress and H&M sunglasses

Another amazing few days travelling across the Southern states of the USA. This week I've hit up New Mexico, Texas and Louisiana. I love how each state has its own vibe with different cultures, history and incredible food.
I travelled on the infamous Route 66 near Sante Fe, New Mexico, visited the Carlsbad Caverns and had a wonderful time exploring the city.
Next, for the 4th of July, we hit up San Antonio, Texas. The city is situated on the banks of the San Antonio river and has been one of my favourite places I've visited so far. The day was ended by watching an impressive display of fireworks and the celebrations in Hemisfair Park. Being in the USA for the 4th was unforgettable!
Along with living in shorts and strappy tops, I've brought out my favourite vintage maxi dress a couple of times on the trip. I did an outfit post in it last summer here
and I feel like it is a staple summer piece that I'll be wearing for many years to come. I wore the maxi to go on a swamp tour near New Orleans which was so much fun. We saw an amazing variety of wildlife (great alligator pic right?!) and had a tour of the area. New Orleans is an awesome place to visit and I spent the rest of my time there shopping, eating good food and enjoying the 4th of July holiday weekend.
I can't blog without mentioning the great moment for British tennis that took place yesterday with Andy Murray winning Wimbledon. A lot of you might not know but I've been playing tennis since I could practically hold a racket and used to represent my county - so I'm a huge tennis fan. I would have without a doubt been watching in the crowds at Wimbledon over the past week if I hadn't been in the USA. Congrats Andy!!!!
