'50s sundress

Denim jacket, Vintage
Metal rim sunglasses, c/o A Weathered Penny

Just a short and sweet post to show you this little gem of a dress that my Gran gave last week. It is an original 1950s piece that she actually used to wear back in the day! I love vintage clothing and treasure garments that have stories behind them. I love the length of the dress and paired with a denim jacket and grungy cut out boots, I think it can look very 2013.
I'm back at home in Whitby, North Yorkshire for a few days to see friends and family before I head on my road trip across America next month. I'm having the best time at home - it makes me realise how much I miss the countryside.
Keep up with me on FacebookTwitter and Instagram for updates.

Back to boho

Cross belt, Primark

Believe it or not, these photos were actually taken in London! I think some people may have a bit of a distorted view of the city, but there are so many lovely parks and quiet little areas. I very much felt like I was back in the countryside when shooting today's post for my blog - so much greenery!
I was a little naughty this week and ended up treating myself to a lot of new clothing. My whole outfit practically is from H&M as I'm loving their collections lately. The trouble with H&M is, you either get it or regret it. Their stock turnaround is incredibly fast and one thing that is new in at the beginning of   the week will be gone by the end. I'm really into kimono jackets lately, I think they're so laid-back and casual but make a perfect addition to an outfit. The mixed pattern if this beauty was just too difficult to resist! I also picked up this white swing top this week. I love how pristine the white shade is and it has gorgeous back detailing which I'm sure will be captured on another occasion.
I was kindly sent these metal rim sunglasses and  cluster necklace from A Weathered Penny a few days ago. I couldn't wait to try on the sunglasses when they arrived. The gold rim adds a nice vintage feel and I think my face shape is best suited to round sunnies - I'm sure I'll be rocking them all summer.
As part of our project at university, my friends and I have set up a nail art business called Clawsareout! I'm wearing our Aqua Metallic design in these photos - you can buy them on our website! I'll be doing another post soon to tell you all about our company - make sure to check out our site.

Spring Wonderland

Aztec jacket, Topshop (via eBay)
Tote bag, H&M
Turquoise rings, Primark
Nails, Barry M in Turquoise

The great thing about living in London is discovering a new corner of the city to explore and shoot outfits in each week. Its no secret that I love parks and greenery, (probably because of growing up in a tiny village in the countryside!) so I'm very much in my element in the parks around the city. Its such a joy to see the vibrant colours at this time of the year as the flowers bloom and the blossom falls from the trees. Although my outfit is admittedly a little smart for the pretty location - I'd just finished lectures for the day at London College of Fashion - I still appreciate the beauty of the surroundings.
I've gotten really into wearing trousers recently. As a long term follower of my blog this may be something you thought you'd never see, as I'm so comfortable in dresses/skirts/shorts. I love the skinny fit of these waxed jeans which provide the perfect staple piece to accessorise with. This jacket is something I featured in my recent purchases post last week - another of my many eBay bargains (£20!).
I really like the clean cut and boxy shape, not to mention my favourite pattern - aztec.
I thought I'd set up a Vine account last week and I totally get the hype. If you haven't used the social networking app before, its set out really similarly to Instagram but allows users to upload short video clips. I made this spinning round clip by compiling still images and videoing them as I flicked through - let me know what you think!

Scarf print maxi

Skinny tan belt, Topshop
Tan strap watch, Urban Outfitters
Fruit false nails, Primark

I've welcoming this week's gorgeous spring weather and decided to bring out my new printed maxi dress to celebrate the heat. These photos were taken after lectures in Regent's Park, another of my favourite park's in the city. This maxi dress is another item I've got from Oasis recently. I love the print and the back detailing - so lovely for the long summer days. This is something I'll definitely be packing for my trip to America! I've paired the dress with tan accessories and my favourite H&M sunnies.
Hope you're all having a lovely Bank Holiday Weekend!
