dark romance

Autumn seems to have passed in London and we're moving onto the bare trees and cold air that winter brings. This week's photos were shot in Kensington Gardens on a sunny Sunday morning. I am wearing my latest eBay bargain, this tie dye denim dress (£9!). I really like the grungey effect the dress brings and though I'm normally not a massive fan of the tie dye trend, I made an exception with this little number. I've paired the dress with a black leather jacket which I haven't worn in a good while, plus black tights and patent Chelsea boots. You can also say hello to my new black flower and spiked headband which rarely leaves my head lately. I bought this one from a seller on Etsy and although it took about 3 weeks to arrive, it was definitely worth the wait.
I have been YOLO-ing (forgive me for using this term) when buying online lately. I'm really loving the current trends and there are so many things I want to buy. Its so difficult being a skint student! I go through stages of being all 'oh but I really shouldn't'... to ... 'but I'm a fashion student - its retail research'. I guess even student budgets can't tame a shopaholic! On the plus side, my recent buys do mean I've not more things to show you guys; keep a look out!
I had the pleasure of attending the Dahlia Christmas blogger's event last week at their central London store. It was so lovely to meet bloggers such as Olivia from What Olivia Did, Camilla from Into The Fold and Livvy from Tea Toast Fashion! I admire these girls so much and it is kinda strange seeing people in real life that you only ever see through a screen - a little starstruck!
In other news, I'm in the process of changing my URL to helloomonica.com - exciting stuff. Eeek soon I'll have my own website! Established or what.
This week is likely to be very busy with uni and work, so many hand-ins, projects and shifts! I thrive from being busy so I'm definitely not complaining. Stay updated with me on
Finally, I just wanted to thank those of you who read my blog for your continued support. Last week I hit 600 followers via GFC so a big thanks!

layering lately

Crochet waist skater dress, Topshop (via eBay)
Nude blouse, Republic
Black tights, Primark
berry bag, Primark
cross ring, Camden markets
eye ring, Topshop
spike ring, Topshop
tan strap watch, New Look
polka dot nails, Barry M in Mint Green

What do you think about the first photo? My squirrel friend is pretty cute huh? I can't believe how close I got  to him without scaring him off! These photos were taken whilst wandering through the beautiful autumn scenery in Hyde Park earlier in the week.
I've got a slight obsession with layering dresses over blouses lately. Not only does it mean I can wear my summer dresses through the winter, but also means I can style the pieces in a totally different way. This black skater dress for example, was an eBay bargain which I wore a few times over the summer. The simple style is perfect to be carried through the seasons and I love the way the crochet cutout looks against my nude blouse. Those of you who follow me on Twitter or Instagram may have heard me raving about this coat before. I'm not normally the type to splurge, but this was a complete impulse buy. I paid £99 (with student discount) for this Topshop beauty, which might seem like a lot of money, but I have to say, it is completely worth it! I really like everything from the burgundy colour and the tweed style, to the boyfriend fit. Plus the fur collar makes it extra cosy! The fur is removable so that means I can still wear this coat through until springtime. I think I just justified my purchase...
Although its a little beyond my budget, I'm totally lusting over 3.1 Phillip Lim Pashli Satchel from the latest collection. I really admire Phillip Lim as a designer as his collection never cease to amaze me. Avenue 32 have a fabulous range of cutting-edge designer labels that have recently become my obsession as a fashon student. I'm seriously considering saving for a Mulberry bag. Oversized Alexa please.
I've been very busy this past week as all my uni deadlines seem to be catching up on me! Although I'm loving life at London College of Fashion, it is a lot of work! I shouldn't complain too much though, it isn't bad attending uni on Oxford Street. However my bank balance may disagree.
Call me a geek (I know I am) but I went to see the BBC quiz show Pointless being filmed earlier in the week. Its one of my favourite shows (behind Pretty Little Liars obv!) and I got to be in the audience! And I saw real life actual Richard Osman who is just like my hero.

primary colours

tan strap watch, New Look

Other than burgundy and dark green, primary colours are my favourite for the fall. This Topshop dress remains one of my most treasured things in my wardrobe and I've styled it as a skirt by adding a rock t-shirt over the top. It won't be long before its too chilly to wear my denim jacket alone, so I may have to hide it away until springtime. However, I normally stick to a grey/black colour palette in the winter months so this outfit is a refreshing change. I never want the autumn scenery to go away - it provides the perfect backdrop for my outfit posts!
I've had a busy week - hence not posting as often as I may have liked. As well as struggling with the dark evenings for taking photos, suddenly all my uni work is catching up on me and it has just felt like I've had a lot going on. My top floor London flat allowed me to see fireworks from all over the city on Monday; I went to see Taylor Swift turn on the Christmas lights on Tuesday; had a tour of the WGSN HQ on Wednesday and I've been working the rest of the week. I was lucky enough to get a glimpse of the Kardashians at their launch party on Thursday but failed to see them at Westfield on Saturday after queuing for 4 hours - gutted! On the bright side, I've booked my place on a trip to Barcelona in February with my course at London College of Fashion and that is certainly something I'm looking forward to!
You may have noticed my gorgeous gold cross bracelet and blue chips necklace from the lovely girls at Delilah Dust! I'd highly recommend checking out the website for a handmade range of delicate and unique jewellery at a great price. You can also 'like' Delilah Dust on Facebook here!
I've been thinking about broadening the content on my blog lately and I'm thinking of doing a post about my room - if that is something you guys would be interested in? Give me some ideas!
Keep up on Twitter and Instagram!
