Happy Leap Year Day! Its been feeling a lot more like spring these past few days. Might have to make this my last AW11/12 post!
Snapped these photos a couple of days ago. I know pretty much everyone in the blogging world owns a version of this skirt but I thought I'd put my own spin on it and incorporate it into an outfit. The great thing about this skirt is its versatility. It matches pretty much every blouse/tee that I own, so expect to see it more often on my blog! This leopard print blouse is an old favourite of mine, I'm wearing it over another blouse, but I guess it kinda works as a kimono jacket.
I ombred my hair last night so its a little blonder now. I'm thinking of experimenting with colour dip-dye this summer! Perhaps pink, purple or blue? Haha, we'll see!
Also, how do we feel about creepers? I'm really tempted to order some but I'm not sure I'll suit them and they're certainly not everybody's cup of tea!

chanel tee and DIY shorts

khaki parka, Topshop
cross embellished kimono jacket, Alabama Vintage via Etsy
chanel t-shirt, romwe
DIY studded shorts, Ragged Priest at Topshop
black tights, Primark
bowler hat, thrifted
aztec bag, vintage
lace-up boots, vintage
sunglasses, Primark

I bought these shorts when I was in London a couple of weeks ago. I had been wanting some black levi's for a while and I'm really into customizing my clothes lately with studs. I wish I could have gotten a better shot of the kimono jacket, the cross embellished detailing is great! Hope my readers don't think I'm being a bit boring lately with my black and white outfits - sometimes its difficult to incorporate colour. Thought I'd throw on my bowler hat too - since it was sat getting dusty!

classic essence

black fur coat, c/o AX Paris
white cut-out blouse, vintage
leather look trousers, Topshop
necklace, Primark
bag, vintage
boots, Jeffrey Campbell Litas

I've worn this coat almost everyday this winter. I love the way fur looks with leather so I paired it with my black leather look leggings/trousers from Topshop. The classic white shirt is having a comeback - this one is something I bought off eBay. Its quite over-sized but I think I like that.
I've spent the last couple of days in Birmingham with auntie. We went to the N.E.C to a fashion buying event. It was great experience and I had so much fun watching catwalk shows and browsing hundreds of stalls :)

a hint of mint

 nude blouse, Republic
mint pleated skirt, eBay
quilted leather jacket, H&M
belt, New Look
aztec bag, vintage
burgundy hat, H&M
gold plate necklace, Primark
boots, Jeffrey Campbell Litas

I can barely contain my excitement lately. I found out yesterday that I've been offered a place at both London College of Fashion (!!!!) and at the University of Westminster. I'm still kinda in a state of shock as there are hundreds of applicants but only a very small number of places on the Fashion Management courses I applied for. But yeah, on the condition that I get my predicted grades - I'm going to LONDON BABYY! Who needs love on Valentines day when you get offered a place at your dream universities?!
This skirt is something a bought off eBay a few weeks ago. I'm such an ebay addict - I should probably restrain myself sometimes! I love the turquoise-mint colour and I can't resist a pleated skirt! I paired it with my new leather jacket from H&M which I bought when I was down in London a couple of weeks ago.
In other news, I was featured on the real life pages of Company Magazine. Check out the picture below and make sure to grab a copy! It was in an advert for the Company Mag Website which I was featured in last month - pretty cool!

HYPE ON LOOKBOOK

Seriously nearly froze when taking these shots. I kinda forgot I was wearing the gloves, didn't mean for them to get in the pictures - but oh well. We had a covering of snow a few days ago where I am, its all melted though now which I'm kinda happy about. Don't mean to be a hater - I dislike snow. Its an inconvenience to say the least. But its really beautiful. It makes the scenery where I live look breathtaking. I was a little blinded about how bright it was too - hence snow blind. Last time I took photos in this scene it was so autumnal with the orange leaves - now its so wintery!
About the outfit - I think this parka adds a '90s grunge feel to any outfit so I paired it with my burgundy shorts (which I haven't worn in a while!) and a crop top. Perhaps not the most sensible outfit for a winter's day but hey. I have so much love this aztec bag which my best friend Jodi got me for Christmas, its so versatile.
I had an amazing time last week in London. Interviews were scary yet exciting and shopping... was immense. Those of you who have been shopping on Oxford Street and to Camden Markets will know the experience I'm referring to - so much fun! I bought a few pieces which I'm sure you'll be seeing on my blog soon enough :)
Hopefully I'll be able to update a bit more frequently as its half term this week. I'll be working lots and I'm going for a meal with my good friend Ryan for Valentines.
Love Monica xoxo
